Biomass Power Industry Assessment, National Renewable Energy Laboratory

ANTARES identified key organizations in the biomass industry, and together with the Department of Energy, met with these groups to determine their interests and concerns. An issue of major importance was the economic availability of biomass resources; Independent Power Producers and utilities expressed the need for a wide base of cost-competitive fuels. Answering this request, ANTARES recommended feasibility studies of feedstocks sources, R&D on feedstock collection and processing, and R&D for safe uses of wood and wood/coal ash.
