New York Client approved for 9.8 MW CoGen Biomass Plant

Griffiss Business and Technology Park in Rome, N.Y., will soon host a 9.6-megawatt biomass-fueled cogeneration plant, following the approval of up to $35 million in financing from the New York State Public Service Commission. The project will provide sufficient steam generation to meet the park’s peak heating load.

ANTARES assisted Griffiss in developing the alternative fuel-based cogeneration project at the park. The work involved evaluating the technical and economic feasibility of potential options, identifying the important technical characteristics of the project, and providing system design and technical expertise as needed. Technical assistance included the modeling of the existing steam plant and distribution system for the park.
