Bionenergy Facilities - Planning & Site Selection

ANTARES applies a systems-based approach to identifying the most suitable location for a potential biomass energy project.

Our staff conducts GIS-based analyses of candidate project areas to determine the most desirable location. These models are designed to optimize siting relative to essential project resources. For example, a study for a wood-based biopower facility would include a timber market analysis to identify areas with a high volume of forest and other woody biomass residues. ANTARES also evaluates proximity to existing transportation and transmission infrastructure, highlights environmental concerns, and analyzes the potential impact to neighboring communities.
